Various government employees including teachers of government aided schools and teachers of government technical colleges in the state have started an agitation demanding the old pension scheme. A request has been made to remove the fixed salary scheme by including it in the old pension scheme.

Employees have been demanding this for a long time. Some issues were resolved in a meeting with a committee of five ministers on September 16, 2022 and assurances were given by the government on some issues, which have not been completed yet.
