New Delhi, Aug 19 (HS): Old Delhi 6 may have suffered an early setback in the Delhi Premier League (DPL), but batsman Lalit Yadav is quite confident about the team's chances.
He said in a statement, “The team is learning a lot from experienced bowler Ishant Sharma and wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant, which will definitely be useful for the players in the near future.”
The inaugural edition of the DPL got underway on Saturday at the iconic Shri Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Rishabh Pant-led Old Delhi 6 had a good start in their first match against South Delhi Superstars but unfortunately the effort failed to convert into a win.
Speaking on the team's defeat, dashing batsman Lalit Yadav said, “After the last game, we had a lot of discussions as a team and reflected deeply on the mistakes made by the team. I think we are fully prepared for tomorrow's game. All the players had a lot of conversations with Rishabh Bhaiya and Ishant Bhaiya which will definitely boost their morale. For many players, sharing the dressing room with them is like a dream come true.”
Talking about DPL, Lalit Yadav, who has played 82 T20 matches, said, “The atmosphere in our team is very positive regarding the Delhi Premier League. This league is like the key to the future for young talents.”
Old Delhi 6 will now play its next match against East Delhi Riders on Tuesday, while its third match will be against West Delhi Lions on Wednesday.
