Gros Islet, June 22 (HS). After the win against England in the Super 8s of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, South Africa captain Aiden Markram praised the excellent performance of the bowlers in the match.
The Aiden Markram-led South African team took one step further towards the semi-finals of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 by defeating England by seven runs in the Super Eight match at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium. The all-rounder praised opener Quinton de Kock for his brilliant match-winning performance in the match.
Markram said after the match, “There was a lot going against us in the last three overs, but the bowlers had good plans and executed it. The message after the powerplay was that it slowed down. We didn't play a full game of cricket, but we are on the right track. Quinny (de Kock) has done well for us in the last two games. It was a bit nerve-wracking in those overs, but that can happen. There were plans, but the execution didn't happen. I am grateful that Brooke was caught.”
