Pasmanda made a big demand: There is a debate going on across the country after the Supreme Court's decision on sub-division in Scheduled Castes. Meanwhile, marginalized Muslims have also demanded SC status. All India Pasmanda Muslim Mehaz (AIPMIM) and other Muslim organizations have demanded that at least 12 castes be included in SC.

Muslim organisations have also met the Justice KG Balakrishnan committee set up to prepare a report on inclusion of castes of different religions in the SC on the basis of economic, social and educational level. Former MP Ali Anwar has said that at least the excluded people should be included in the 80 and said their condition is worse than that of Hindu Scheduled Castes. They are considered untouchables even by their own community.

Anwar reportedly said that there are at least 20 castes among Muslims whose economic condition is worse than Hindu Dalits. This has also been revealed in a survey based on Bihar. These castes are 6.62% of the total Muslims. Their population in Bihar is 1.16 percent. Let us tell you that BJP is also trying to bring votes of marginalized Muslims to its side. BJP has entrusted the Minority Front with the task of inducting 50 lakh Muslims into the party.

On the other hand, AIPMM demands that the new list of Scheduled Castes be prepared impartially and Dalit Muslims and Christians should also be included in it. Let us tell you that the word Pasmanda is used for tribal and backward Muslims. Ali Anwar said that despite being in large numbers, Muslims are not getting jobs and representation in minority communities. Muslims and Christians of Dalit origin have been demanding the removal of religious restrictions for a long time.

Let us tell you that the Central Government had constituted the Commission in 2022 under the chairmanship of retired judge KG Balakrishnan. Its objective was to consider the possibility of including new castes in the Scheduled Castes. Under this, importance is given to those castes which at one time converted from Hinduism, Buddhism or Sikhism and became Christians or Muslims.
