Prayagraj : Not only Pakistan, but dozens of people from countries like Nepal, Bangladesh and Afghanistan want to become citizens of India. These people live in four districts of Prayagraj division. Among them there are many women who got married here. These people had applied for this many years ago.
A woman from Nepal got married in Prayagraj city. His father used to work here and during this time he kept coming and going. Her father got her married here. She has been living in the city for about one and a half decade. He has applied for Indian citizenship. His file has reached the government level. Now the hopes of this Hindu woman getting citizenship under CAA have increased. It is said that many Hindu women of Nepal have got married here but have not yet applied for citizenship. Now they can apply and get citizenship.
Similarly, a woman from Pakistan got married in Kareli area of the city. He has also applied for Indian citizenship. Its file has also reached the government. A woman from Bangladesh has also applied for citizenship here after marriage. His file has reached the Home Ministry.
A Ukrainian man had also applied for Indian citizenship but died of illness while his file was being prepared at the district level. He used to work in Prayagraj.
A separate counter will be made in the collectorate
After the implementation of CAA, the number of people applying for Indian citizenship is expected to increase. In this regard, a separate counter can also be made in the collector office. However, a counter is run in this regard, for which an employee has been deployed as an assistant.
Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant said that if a law is made regarding CAA, action will be taken as per rules. A list of applications will be prepared across the board and then after completing the formalities the files will be sent to the government.
