Mumbai: Despite self-production and a talented actor like Alia Bhatt in the lead role, 'Jigra' has been a complete flop. Fans trolled director Vasan Bala a lot for working in this film, ultimately Bala got fed up and had to delete his ex-account.
The budget of this film made by Alia and Karan Johar was around 80 crores. But, its earning at the box office is barely Rs 26 crores. However, according to the ongoing discussion in Bollywood circles, this figure is also wrong and the actual earning is not even half of it. Divya Khosla has publicly alleged that fake bookings were shown in theaters to show false earnings of the film.
Vasan Bala claimed in an interview that he has made the best film and that he does not evaluate the film on the basis of box office success. Fans became quite disappointed after this boast. He scolded Vasan Bala for not admitting that his mind was filled with mustard and that he himself had taken off the Veth.
Parallel to Alia's film, Rajkumar Rao and Trupti Dimri's 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video' was released and it earned more than 'Jigra'.
