Barmer, 16 May (HS). A case of death of a youth working in the FRT team due to electric shock has come to light in Dudhu village of the district. Angry family members and people sat on a dharna in front of the hospital mortuary. The family alleges that the youth died due to negligence and not providing safety equipment on the part of the FRT contractor. The family members are demanding registration of FIR against the contractor, compensation of Rs 1 crore to the family of the deceased and a government job.
Actually, due to heavy storm and rain recently, the lights in Dhorimanna area were switched off due to breaking of light wires and fault. To repair it, FRT employee Jasram, son of Hukamaram, resident of Khoome Ki Beri, working at Khoome Ki Beri GSS, was repairing the light in the barber's house in Dudhu village on Wednesday night. During this time he died due to electric shock. The people of the village took him to the hospital. The body of the deceased was kept in the hospital mortuary at night. It is alleged that the accident occurred because the contractor did not provide safety equipment while repairing the lights.
Family members say that Jasraj's son Hukamaram was working in the FRT team at Khumay's Beri GSS. Sent to repair the lines damaged by storm and rain. But due to the contractor not providing safety equipment, he died due to electric shock. Unless our demands are accepted. Then we will continue to sit on strike.
