IND vs SL: After the T20 series, the ODI series will be played between the Indian cricket team and Sri Lanka. Under the captaincy of Suryakumar, the Indian cricket team swept the host team in the T20 series. Now the ODI series is about to start. However, in the ODI series, Team India will not be captained by Suryakumar Yadav but by Rohit Sharma.
Captain Rohit Sharma will play in a series for the first time after winning the T20 World Cup. Rohit took a break after leading the Indian team to victory in the World Cup trophy under his captaincy. The ODI team, along with his teammate Virat Kohli, would like to regain form in the first format of the Champions Trophy and help the team win the series.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have recently reached Sri Lanka for this series. Both the veterans have started practice. After the T20 World Cup, Rohit and Virat said goodbye to this format. In such a situation, both were not a part of Team India in the T20 series on the Sri Lanka tour.
When will the ODI series start?
The first ODI match of the series between India and Sri Lanka (IND vs SL) will be played on Friday (02 August) at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The match will be played from 2.30 pm Indian time.
All three ODIs will be played in Colombo
The second ODI of the series will be played on August 4 while the third and last ODI will be played on August 7 in Colombo. Sri Lanka's captaincy is in the hands of Charith Asalanka. Cricket Sri Lanka has made Asalanka the captain for the ODI series after the T20. The Indian team has reached Sri Lanka under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir. The Sri Lankan team is being guided by Sanath Jayasuriya.
