Giridih, 4th May (Hindustan Reporter). The scrutiny process was completed on Saturday after the nominations were over at the Collectorate in Papparvatand, Giridih. During this, while DC cum District Election Officer Naman Priyesh Lakra scrutinized the nomination forms of the candidates of Koderma, District Supply Officer cum Returning Officer Ghulam Samdani scrutinized the nomination forms of the candidates of Gandey by-election.
Till Friday, the last day of the nomination process which started from April 26, 18 candidates on party and independent basis had filed nomination forms in 30 sets for Koderma. After DC's scrutiny on Saturday, now 17 candidates are left in the electoral fray. One candidate's nomination was cancelled.
In the election battle of Koderma, Annapurna Devi from BJP, Vinod Singh from Indi alliance, independent Jaiprakash Verma, Ajay Krishna from Native Samaj Party, Akhileshwar Sahu from Lokhit Adhikar Party, apart from independent candidates, there are Jaynarayan Das, Rajesh, Rameshwar and many others.
Here, in the fight for Gandey by-election, 13 candidates had filed nomination forms before returning officer Ghulam Samdani. After the scrutiny held on Saturday, now 11 candidates are in the fray for the Gandey by-election. The nomination forms of two independent candidates Ziauddin Ansari and Mukhtar Ansari were canceled. BJP candidate Dilip Verma, Indi alliance candidate Kalpana Soren, independent candidate Arjun Baitha, Awadhesh Singh, Shabbir Ansari, AIMIM's Intekhab Ansari, Kausar Azad, Tahir Ansari, Shahadat Ansari are in the electoral battle.
