After retirement, Team India’s ‘Gabbar’ created a storm in NPL, rained fours and sixes

Shikhar Dhawan in Nepal Premier League: Former Indian cricket team opener Shikhar Dhawan, popularly known as ‘Gabbar’, is playing in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) these days. Shikhar Dhawan is a part of the Karnali Yax team in the NPL. In the first match of NPL, Dhawan was out after scoring only 14 runs. But in the second match he performed strongly in his Gabbar style.

Rami Shikhar played a brilliant innings

In the match played against Kathmandu Gurkhaj, Shikhar played an unbeaten inning of 72 runs hitting many sixes and fours. However, he could not lead his team to victory. Shikhar was the highest run scorer in the entire match. He scored these runs in 51 balls at a strike rate of 141.17. And during this he hit four fours and five sixes.

Before NPL, Shikhar Dhawan stayed away from cricket for some time. Before participating in the NPL, Dhawan last played for Punjab Kings on April 9 this year. Shikhar Dhawan could play only five matches in IPL 2024. And then due to injury he had to sit out. On 24 August 2024, Shikhar announced his retirement from cricket. Shikhar Dhawan has played a total of 34 Tests, 167 ODIs and 68 T20 International matches for India. Dhawan has scored 2315, 6793 and 1759 runs in all three formats respectively.

Shikhar has already made a record in IPL

Shikhar Dhawan also has seven Test and 17 ODI centuries in his account. Shikhar and Rohit have opened the innings together for the Indian team in many matches. Apart from this, Shikhar Dhawan scored two centuries in IPL. He also became the first batsman to score two consecutive centuries in the IPL. Shikhar Dhawan has played for Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Deccan Chargers and Mumbai Indians in IPL. Shikhar Dhawan also has the record of hitting most fours in IPL.
