Ranchi, July 4 (HS). After his release from jail, Hemant Soren once again became the Chief Minister of Jharkhand on Thursday. Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered him the oath of office and secrecy in a program organized in the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan. The Governor also congratulated him. With this, Hemant Soren became the Chief Minister to hold the reins of power three times.
It is noteworthy that Hemant Soren became the Chief Minister for the first time on July 13, 2013. After this, he became the Chief Minister on December 29, 2019 and now for the third time on July 4.
On this occasion, JMM chief and Hemant's father Shibu Soren, mother Roopi Soren, acting Chief Minister Champai Soren, ministers Badal, Rameshwar Oraon, Satyanand Bhokta, former Union minister Subodhkant Sahay, MP Mahua Maji, state Congress president Rajesh Thakur, MLA Kalpana Soren, Deepika Pandey Singh, Baijnath Ram and all the MLAs of the ruling party and others were also present.
Before this, Hemant Soren went to his father and MP Shibu Soren and touched his feet. Sharing this on social media, he wrote that he met Baba and took his blessings to deal with the upcoming challenges.
There was political activity in the state from the Chief Minister's residence to the Raj Bhavan since Thursday morning. After a meeting in the CM House in the morning, Hemant Soren went to the Raj Bhavan with his colleagues. After this, the Governor nominated him as the Chief Minister. He was also invited for the swearing-in ceremony.
After this, there was a discussion that on July 7, Hemant will take oath along with his colleagues included in the cabinet. On this day, there is also a program of Lord Jagannath's Rath Yatra in Ranchi. Therefore, the swearing-in ceremony will be held on this holy day, but by afternoon, the news came that Hemant Soren will take oath as the Chief Minister alone at Raj Bhavan at 5 pm on Thursday. The swearing-in ceremony for the names that will be decided in the cabinet will be organized later.
