West Bengal News: The body of a 10-year-old girl was found in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. There is a lot of anger among the people amid claims that the girl was raped and then murdered. After this incident, villagers set fire to the police post and vandalized vehicles. The villagers allege that the poor action of the police has been seen in the RG Kar Hospital case of Kolkata.
Villagers say that the girl was missing since Friday, but the police did not take any timely action. The girl's body was found in Jaynagar area on Saturday morning. After which the villagers got enraged and reached the nearby police post, where they set fire, pelted stones at policemen and vandalized vehicles. A large number of other policemen were beaten up and tear gas was used to disperse the crowd.
A local person said that the girl's family had earlier lodged a missing complaint at the police post. However, no action was taken. The kind of action that was taken after the incident of rape and murder of a doctor at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata, similar action was seen in this case also. We will continue our protest until all the culprits are caught and given strict punishment. We also demand action against those who did not pay attention to the action after the complaint. The girl died due to the mistake of the police administration. Union Minister and Bengal BJP State President Sukant Majumdar said that women are not safe in Bengal, Mamata Banerjee should resign. Meanwhile, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh said that those involved in this heinous crime will be given strict punishment. People should not fall into the trap of BJP and Leftists.
