After Prime Minister's reaction, Lalu gave clarification on the statement of reservation for Muslims – News India Live

Patna (Bihar), 7 May (HIST). After sharp reaction from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar BJP leaders, Lalu Yadav has given clarification on his statement given on reservation for Muslims. Lalu has now said that reservation is not given on the basis of religion, but on social basis.

After Lalu's statement, the politics of Bihar became heated and PM Modi himself along with the leaders of Bihar BJP strongly attacked Lalu Prasad. Prime Minister Modi said in an election rally in Madhya Pradesh that Congress is silent but one of its allies has confirmed the intentions of the INDI alliance. They are saying that Muslims should get full reservation.

After this, Lalu came on back foot and said that we had implemented the Mandal Commission. There are hundreds of castes in the Mandal Commission, which are based on social basis. Not on the basis of religion. Narendra Modi wants to end reservation. That's why they make all kinds of excuses. Atal Bihari Vajpayee had formed the Constitution Review Commission so that these people could change the Constitution. Religion cannot be the basis of reservation. Reservation has a social basis.

In fact, Lalu Yadav, who came to attend the swearing-in ceremony organized in Bihar Legislative Council on Tuesday amid voting for the third phase of Lok Sabha elections, had advocated giving full reservation to Muslims.
