It is noteworthy that a student named Mihir committed suicide on 15 January 2025 by jumping from the 26th floor of an apartment in Tripunithura, Ernakulam. His mother said in a social media post, “I started finding out the reason behind my son’s death with my husband.” We came to know the truth through interaction with his friends, classmates and social media messages.
Mihir was very angry.
Mihir’s mother said, ‘Mihir was brutally tortured. Ragging was being done by a group of students in school and school bus. He was threatened. He was beaten with porn words. Even on the last day of his death, he was tortured a lot. They forcibly took her to the toilet. Where he was asked to lick the toilet seat and his head was pushed into the toilet while flushing. He was shocked by these cruel acts. And committed suicide.
Disappearance
Mihir was discriminated against due to her skin color. Those who harassed him were people with very cruel mentality. After Mihir’s suicide, he sent a message to the group which said ‘FK Nigga…’ which meant that he had actually died. He celebrated his death. His mother also shared some screenshots of this group message in her post.
Appeal to DGP for action
Rajna said that the family has made a detailed appeal to the Chief Minister’s Office and DGP with evidence. He has demanded immediate and fair investigation. An FIR has been registered at Hill Palace Police Station. But the family fears that if there is a delay in collecting digital evidence, criminals may hide their way. It is noteworthy that on 15 January 2025, Mihir went to the 26th floor after returning from school. From where he jumped and committed suicide.
