BRS leader K, lodged in Tihar jail in money laundering case. Kavita has applied to provide home food and mattresses. An application has been made to Rouse Avenue Court for permission to provide home food and mattresses in compliance with the court's order dated March 26, 2024.

It has been said in the petition that keeping health in mind, home-cooked food should be provided and mattresses should also be provided. K Kavita has demanded instructions to the Tihar Jail Superintendent that she should be allowed to bring her spectacles and rosary to the jail. The petitioner has also sought direction to the Tihar Jail authorities to provide slippers, bedsheets, books, blankets, pens, paper sheets, jewellery, medicines etc. during judicial custody.
Hearing will be held on March 30
However, in complete disregard of the order dated March 26, 2024, none of the items directed by the Court were made available to the petitioner or allowed to be taken. The petition said that the petitioner was not even allowed to take spectacles and rosary to the jail. Taking note of the complaint, Special Judge Kaveri Baweja on Thursday sought response from Tihar Jail authorities and adjourned the case for hearing till March 30, 2024.
In custody till 9 April
K Kavita was represented by Mohit Rao and Deepak Nagar along with advocate Nitesh Rana in the case. Importantly, the Rouse Avenue Court has sent Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) MLC Kavitha to judicial custody till April 9, 2024. He was recently arrested in a money laundering case related to Delhi Excise policy.
