After five consecutive days of decline, the stock market improved marginally today, 131 stocks at the highest level of the year

Stock Market Closing: The stock market closed with a marginal gain today amidst speculations of the final phase of voting in the Lok Sabha elections tomorrow and the release of exit polls. After falling in the last five trading sessions, the Sensex closed at 73961.31, up 75.71 points, and the Nifty closed at 22530.70, up 42.05 points.

After opening with a jump of 322.93 points, the Sensex climbed 593.29 points to an intraday high of 74478.89. It closed with a marginal improvement of 75.71 points at an intra-day volatility of 713.74 points. With this, investors' capital had increased by Rs. 1.79 lakh crore. On the other hand, the Nifty managed to maintain the important psychological level of 22500.

131 stocks hit year's highest level on BSE

131 stocks hit a one-year high and 79 hit a one-year low on BSE today. These include stocks like Adani Power, Bharat Rasayan, Bharti Hexacon, Anand Rathi, Fortis, Jyoti CNC, Windlass Energy, Ratan Power. Stocks including Wardwizard, Atul, MK Products hit a year's low today.

The market conditions are 50-50

After five days of decline, the market has recovered, but the situation is 50-50 bullish and bearish. Today, 15 stocks improved and 15 declined in the Sensex. Out of the total 3915 stocks traded on BSE, 1841 stocks closed in the green zone and 1983 stocks closed in the red zone. This indicates a 50-50 possibility of bullish and bearish market expansion.

Cautious stance among investors

“The pre-poll trading strategy has been completed today, and all eyes will be on the exit poll announcements for further action. Sectoral divergences, lower than expected turnout and strong resistance in the existing range have prompted investors to adopt a cautious stance. They are shifting their investments to fundamentally strong sectors and stocks are aligning, US inflation data, which is expected to be higher, could impact the domestic stock market in the short term.
