Jagdalpur, June 24 (HS). After 12 dengue patients were found in the urban and rural areas of the district, the health and municipal corporation team has been conducting an intensive survey campaign and investigation for the last three days. While conducting a door-to-door survey, the places where dengue larvae breed were cleaned. Mosquito nets have been distributed and wall writing pamphlets have been distributed for public awareness.
According to a press release issued on Monday, the Nagar Nigam team is carrying out cleanliness, sardicide specka defogging activities. In the last three days, 125 houses were surveyed and larvae were destroyed in 05 houses. Two fever patients were examined, who were found negative. The health department is taking necessary action for dengue control by conducting health check-ups in every house of the city's Maharana Pratap ward. The places where dengue breeds were cleaned by surveying 187 houses. The health department is carrying out source reduction work and examining fever patients through Mitanin and health workers. Cleanliness and spraying of medicine is being done by the Nagar Nigam.
The Health Department has formed 32 teams for the 48 wards of the city, in which 6500 houses have been surveyed so far in the month of June by ANM, Mitanin, Mahila Arogya Samiti. In which larvae were found in 49 houses, which were destroyed immediately. Similarly, a total of 12437 containers were examined, larvae were found in 89 containers, which were destroyed. Anaesthesia test was done on 762 suspicious blood samples in the year 2024, in which only four patients were found in the urban area of Jagdalpur. Currently there is no active patient. A total of 08 cases have been found in the rural area from January till now. It is known that 2041 dengue patients have been found in the year 2022, 68 in the year 2023 and 12 dengue patients have been found so far in the year 2024. Thus, due to public awareness, dengue cases are continuously decreasing.
Regarding prevention and protection from dengue, the health department has appealed to all citizens that dengue breeds in clean water, therefore, clean pots, tyres, coolers, broken utensils, fridge, trays, coconut shells etc. around your house regularly at least once in seven days and do not let water accumulate, use mosquito net, wear clothes that completely cover hands and feet, keep your surroundings clean and play your part in preventing dengue. In case of fever or dengue symptoms, immediately get yourself examined at your nearest health centre. Dengue testing and treatment facility is available free of cost at all government health centres.
