Bhopal: After the recovery of narcotics worth Rs 5,000 crore in Delhi on October 2, a major recovery has also been made in Bhopal on Sunday. Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Gujarat ATS have seized a closed factory manufacturing drug MD (Mephodrone) in Bagroda Industrial Area and seized the drug and raw material used in its manufacturing. . In the raid, 907 kg of MD drug was found in solid and liquid form. On the spot, Sanyal Bane of Nashik and Amit Prakash Chaturvedi, resident of Kotra Sultanabad, Bhopal, were arrested while making drugs, who were taken to Gujarat by ATS. Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi has posted on Twitter that ATS and NCB have conducted the biggest operation till date and seized drugs and its manufacturing material, worth Rs 1,814 crore.
An accused associated with the MD drug business arrested in Gujarat had told during interrogation that MD drug was being manufactured in Bhopal. After this Gujarat ATS gathered intelligence. After receiving solid evidence, a five-member team led by ATS DSP SL Chaudhary and NCB Delhi officials conducted the raid. The closed factory in which the business was being run is said to be owned by AK Singh, a resident of Bharat Nagar, Bhopal. Here first furniture and later composting work was done. They closed the factory seven months ago. After this Sanyal and Amit took the factory on rent. Gujarat ATS sources said that the accused were preparing about 25 kg of drugs daily from the beginning. About five thousand kilograms of raw material, mixer, heater, glass flask and other equipment used in making the medicine have been seized and the factory has been sealed.

Accused Sanyal Bane was arrested in 2017 with one kg of MD drug in Amboli police station area of Maharashtra. He was sentenced to five years' imprisonment. After being released from jail, he contacted his old friend Amit Prakash Chaturvedi. Both of them started making and selling drugs. For this, Amit used to do chemical supply work.
