After the coaching incident in Rajendra Nagar of the national capital Delhi, on Tuesday, VDA raided coaching centers running in the basements of buildings in different areas of the city. This created panic among the operators of coaching centers. The VDA team issued notices to the managers of ten coaching centers for flaws in the building map and lack of parking in the coaching centers. At the same time, where class rooms were running in the basement, it was immediately sealed.
According to the Bhelupur VDA Zonal Officer, on the orders of the government, raids are being conducted in various areas of the city where coaching is going on in basements. Such coaching centers are being sealed. Two such coaching centers were sealed.
The VDA team first reached the Fit-G and Cat-G coaching centres located in Mahmoorganj. After inspecting the basement, the team mapped the building. VDA issued a notice for investigation and called the coaching operator with the documents. The team reached Design Square Coaching Centre located in Ravindrapuri. Here the coaching was being conducted in the basement. The VDA team asked for the documents from the coaching management, and on not showing the documents, the coaching centre was sealed. Similarly, the VDA team, under the leadership of zonal officer Pramod Tiwari, reached the Rakshak Coaching Centre located in Ravindrapuri. Here, after seeing the classes being conducted in the basement, it was sealed.
VDA Secretary VP Mishra told reporters that this action has started from today and we will visit coaching centres operating in all zones of Varanasi. Basement is used for parking or store room. If anything is operated against the rules, action will be taken. He said that in the institutions where we have taken action, if anyone breaks the seal and uses it for any other work, then strict action will be taken against him by registering an FIR.
It is worth mentioning that three students died due to water logging in the basement of a coaching institute located in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. This incident has shaken the country. The Uttar Pradesh government is also alert about this incident. In UP, action will be taken against the use of basements approved for any other purpose. After the government's order, action is now being taken against the use of basements built without approval. Teams will be formed at the authority level to inspect the basements.
