Mumbai: In a shocking incident in Nagpur, an angry boyfriend broke up with his girlfriend and set fire to the shop where the girl worked. In this incident the entire shop along with its goods was burnt to ashes.
The incident took place in Bohra Masjid Gali area under tehsil police station of Nagpur. Investigation revealed that the lover had done this act to teach the girl a lesson, after which the police arrested the suspected accused.
According to more information in this regard, Makhija has a stationery shop in Ritesh Suda in Bohra Masjid Gali area under Tehsil Police Station limits of Nagpur city. On the night of 30th April, Makhija closed his shop and returned home. On the morning of 1 May, Makhija received a call from a person living above the shop that smoke was coming out of his shop and it seemed as if there was a fire inside. Makhija informed the fire brigade and immediately reached the shop. Meanwhile, fire brigade personnel arrived and started trying to control the fire. However, the shop was gutted in the fire and the goods kept inside were also destroyed.
As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot. After the fire was extinguished, the police also tried to find out the cause of the fire and also obtained CCTV footage for this. When the police examined the footage, at four in the morning a person wearing a shawl was setting fire to the shutter of the shop.
During investigation, the police came to know that a girl and two other people worked in Makhija's shop. Meanwhile, when the police investigated further, the youth who set the fire was identified as Prashant. Further investigation revealed that Prashant was friends with a girl working in the same shop. However, Prashat was constantly suspicious of the girl, so the girl broke all contact with him. According to police sources, angry Prashant decided to set fire to the shop to teach the girl a lesson so that she would lose her job. In which the entire shop was burnt to ashes. In this case, the police investigated further and arrested a youth named Prashant Chate (19) and took further action.
