Preparations are in full swing at Janata Maidan here for the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister of the BJP government being held for the first time in Odisha. Top BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi may be present at the ceremony. The swearing-in ceremony is likely to be held today on Monday. The BJP high command has sent a panel of three leaders to form the government in Odisha, which includes Madhya Pradesh government minister Vishwas Sarang, Bhopal MP Alok Sharma and BJP leader Lokendra Parashar. A decision on who will be the Chief Minister may be taken soon. The names of Sambalpur MP and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, former BJP state president and Patnagarh MLA K. V Singhdeo and tribal leader Mohan Manjhi are in the news. It is worth noting that in the Odisha Assembly of 147 members, BJP has won 78 seats and has got a clear majority. BJP has also won 20 out of 21 Lok Sabha seats in Odisha.
Prem Singh Tamang will take oath as CM again in Sikkim today
In Sikkim, Prem Singh Tamang of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) will take oath as the Chief Minister for the second time on Monday. In the Sikkim Assembly elections, SKM has won 31 out of 32 seats in the state. The swearing-in ceremony of Tamang and his new cabinet will be held at Paljor Stadium at 4 pm on Monday.
Pema Khandu may take oath on 11 or 12 June in Arunachal
In Arunachal Pradesh, senior BJP leader Pema Khandu may take oath as the Chief Minister on 11 or 12 June. He will be elected as the leader of the BJP Legislative Party on Monday. The National People's Party (NPP) has announced to support the Pema Khandu government. The ruling BJP in Arunachal has won 46 out of 60 assembly seats.
