Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: In the Lok Sabha elections, Congress performed well in many states after a long time, but the party's hopes suffered a major setback in Madhya Pradesh. This time Congress was wiped out and BJP captured all 29 seats. After snatching Chhindwara, the only seat of Congress, questions are now being raised in the party. Former CM Kamal Nath has been targeted.
Former Leader of Opposition and MLA from Churhat seat Ajay Singh Rahul has openly questioned Kamal Nath and said that the same leader who has hijacked the party is responsible for the defeat. Ajay Singh, son of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Arjun Singh, has demanded a review of the situation from the party high command.
Ajay Singh said, in this election, not only one or two leaders hijacked the party in a planned manner. In 2018, we had an elected government which could not last even 15 months. Ajay Singh targeted Kamal Nath without naming him and also mentioned the news of the former CM joining BJP before the elections.
The Congress leader said, he is going to join BJP a month before the elections. Even the common labourers are forced to think about their future. First he said he is going, then he said he is not going. This had a big impact on the workers in Madhya Pradesh. So many big leaders wanted to join BJP and many people wanted to go with them. He said that the party should also discuss whether a large number of Congress leaders are leaving the party before the elections. Singh said, when I was the leader of the opposition in 2013, I was asked to resign if the government was not formed.
After the defeat, Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu has been asked to resign. A senior leader termed it unfair and said that he was given approval only a few months before the elections. The big challenge came at a time when many leaders left the party due to temptation or fear of investigation by central agencies. After the big defeat in the first assembly elections and now the Lok Sabha elections, a big change can be seen in Madhya Pradesh Congress.
