A big update related to Imran Khan, former Prime Minister of Pakistan and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has come to light. Imran Khan, lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, has met his wife Bushra Bibi and his sister for the first time after a long gap of about 9 months. This meeting has become possible after the intervention of the Supreme Court of the country and concerns expressed regarding health.
Supreme Court instructions and background of the meeting
The family was allowed to meet Imran Khan after the Supreme Court of Pakistan expressed deep concern over his deteriorating health. This much-awaited meeting could take place only after the court’s instructions. According to the report, Imran Khan’s sister Noreen Niazi talked to him for about 15 minutes in the jail conference room. During this, Khan’s health, medical condition and legal matters were discussed between the two. On behalf of the family, he was also informed about the order of the Supreme Court in which the government has been instructed to take him to the hospital for medical examination.
Strict instructions and restrictions on political rhetoric
The court has given very strict conditions and instructions regarding this meeting. The Supreme Court has made it clear that this permission should not be used for any kind of political rhetoric or political gain. The court has warned that if the rules are violated, the relief granted can be immediately withdrawn. This was the main reason why Imran Khan’s other sisters—Alima Khan, Uzma Khan—and other senior party leaders were not allowed to meet this time.
Had a long conversation with wife Bushra Bibi also
According to information received from jail insiders, a conversation took place between Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the conference room for about 35 to 40 minutes. Apart from this, Bushra Bibi also separately met the children from her first marriage and her sister-in-law Mehrunnisa. It is noteworthy that Imran Khan is in jail since August 2023 in various cases and is serving a sentence in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case. Now the court will consider further hearing in this case and petitions related to medical treatment.
