Afghanistan has better facilities than this…' BCCI suffers huge loss in stadium dispute | News India

AFG vs NZ Test: The only Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand was scheduled to start on September 9. But the match had to be canceled on the first day due to rain. After this, the ground staff tried to soften the ground on the second day also due to the wet outfield but they failed.

On the second day, it was decided to cancel the match due to the wet outfield. Everyone was hoping that the match would start on the third day, but rain in Greater Noida dashed all hopes and the toss could not take place in the Test for the third consecutive day.

Host Afghanistan chose Greater Noida as the venue for the Test, which caused a lot of controversy as the Afghanistan Cricket Board had no other option to host the Test match other than Noida. Meanwhile, the ACB has slammed the BCCI after the third day's match was cancelled due to rain.

BCCI suffers huge loss in stadium dispute!

Amid the ongoing controversy over the Greater Noida stadium, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has claimed that the Noida stadium has remained unchanged for many years. The ACB said, Afghanistan has better facilities than the Greater Noida venue.

You won't believe it but Afghanistan's stadiums have better facilities than this,” an ACB official said. We have improved the infrastructure over the years. But as Shahidi said, nothing has changed here.

The official further claimed that the ACB wanted to host the match against New Zealand in Lucknow or Dehradun. But the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) rejected our request. Due to which we had no other option but to choose Greater Noida as the venue.

first choice lucknow stadium

Our first choice was Lucknow stadium and the second was Dehradun. Our requests were rejected by BCCI and we were told that both the states are organising their own T20 leagues. This was the only ground available and we had no other option.
