Gandhinagar News: In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's concept of Digital India, the vision of providing affordable and high quality mobile and digital services by connecting as many remote villages of Gujarat as possible has been adopted under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

The Department of Science and Technology of the State Government has signed an important MoC i.e. Memorandum of Cooperation with the Central Government for further strengthening the Bharat Net network under the revised Bharat Net Program Phase-3 for this purpose. The Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) was signed at the India Mobile Congress held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Gujarat Minister of State for Education Prafulla Pansheriya and Principal Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology Ms. Mona Khandhar were present on the occasion of signing of the MOC.

Bharat Net Phase-1 and Phase-2 is a major initiative of the State Government for equitable coverage across the entire digital connectivity landscape of Gujarat, and this MOC will be useful in bridging the digital divide among districts and achieving more than 98 percent service uptime. will be. For this, the Department of Science and Technology of the State Government has submitted a DPR of Rs 6000 crore for a one-time capital expenditure for a period of ten years under this revised Bharat Net program to the Central Government.

This extended DPR includes extensive use of assets such as far-flung tower fiberization to enhance signal strength, fiber to field offices for connected and grassroots administration, fiber to the family and state-led network design and multi- Dimensional approaches are included. This also includes creating new employment opportunities with fiber to financial enterprises and a connected world to unlock rural economic potential.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi ushered in the digital age with broadband connectivity at the village level by launching the e-Gram Vishwagram project in 2009 during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat.
