Jammu, September 18 (HS). Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) provincial president Rattan Lal Gupta strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a meeting at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan. He alleged that the BJP's policies have had a negative impact on the middle class, women, youth and weaker sections in the last decade.

Addressing a crowd of NC and Congress workers in support of alliance candidate Taranjit Singh Tony for Bahu constituency, Gupta said the middle class, despite being one of the largest tax-paying groups in the country, is suffering due to the hollow and anti-people policies of the current government. Rising taxes and inflation have burdened the common man, while the BJP has failed to provide any relief.

Gupta urged party members to unite behind Taranjit Singh Tony in the upcoming assembly elections and termed this election as crucial for the future of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that we must ensure the victory of the NC-Congress alliance candidate to protect the interests of our common people. In his address, Tony called for a united front to challenge the BJP. He said that only the NC-Congress alliance can save the people of Jammu and Kashmir from the oppressive policies of the BJP. He highlighted the widespread discontent over the lack of basic civic amenities and infrastructure under the BJP rule. Tony stressed the urgent need for essential services like reliable drinking water, electricity and government ration, as well as tackling unemployment and rising prices.
