Advocates celebrated the birthday of Maharani Lakshmibai by performing aarti.

Varanasi, 19 November (HS). Advocates also celebrated the 189th birth anniversary of the country’s first female warrior Maharani Lakshmibai ‘Manu’ with full enthusiasm on Tuesday evening.

Advocates gathered near the 20 feet high statue of Maharani Laxmibai located in the cantonment area, lit 189 lamps and set off fireworks. Under the leadership of Advocate Nityanand Rai, former General Secretary of Banaras Bar Association, the lawyers decorated the statue of the Queen with flower garlands. After this the place was illuminated with a string of 189 lamps. Advocate Vinod Pandey ‘Bhaiyyaji’ of Vivekananda Pravas Sthal Committee, who participated in the program, performed the aarti of the statue of Maharani Laxmibai.

During this, the Damru playing group made the atmosphere patriotic by playing Damru. Former Vice President of Central Bar Sanjeevan Yadav and other advocates burst fireworks. During this, the advocates remembered the extraordinary bravery and sacrifice of the daughter of Banaras. Commissionerate Bar President Advocate Ravi Shankar Tripathi, Vikas Chandra Dwivedi, Pawan Pathak, Vedprakash Singh, Udaynath Sharma, Prem Singh, Rajesh Dubey, Rajesh Tiwari also participated in the program.
