Advocate's anticipatory bail rejected for showing fake High Court order

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of ​​lawyer Vinaykumar Ashok Khatu, who is facing serious charges of showing fake High Court order by misleading an elderly client in a property dispute.

According to the details of the case, the 74-year-old complainant had alleged that Khatu had misrepresented the verdict in the case related to his Alibaug property. Khatu herself has described the High Court orders of 17 October 2022 and 12 December 2022 as fake.

From time to time the lawyer charges Rs. 2.57 crore on false pretenses and assured them that the case was being handled effectively. On consultation with the new lawyer it was found that the order given to him was wrong and the case was never listed.

Khatu's lawyer argued that the High Court order was never clearly stated in the WhatsApp chat. Therefore the stay order issued by the Sub Divisional Officer of Alibaug has been mentioned. In fact, the complainant himself had alleged that the order had been changed.

Received Rs. from Asil. 65 lakh is reasonable as the case involves expenses related to the land deal and various legal and financial matters including sales tax and customs duty. A general power of attorney was given by the complainant in trust on the account.

The prosecutor's lawyer said Khatu has a previous criminal record in which he was arrested by the Delhi Police in 2016 for impersonating an IAS officer and a deputy director of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).
