Jaunpur, 17 May (Hindus). On Friday, the commotion intensified in the District Court when an advocate from Agra once again submitted an application to file a case in the court, claiming that Atala Masjid is the temple of Atala Devi. Before this, a case has been filed in the court by three people claiming that this mosque is a temple.
In Civil Judge Senior Division Court, Agra's advocate Ajay Pratap Singh, describing Atala Majid as Atala Mata Temple, presented a claim against Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board, Management Committee Atala Masjid. Advocate Ajay Pratap Singh, while talking to journalists, said that the suit property Atala Masjid is basically the temple of Atala Mata. According to historical sources, Atala Mata Temple was built by King Jayachandra Rathore of Kannauj. The first director of the Archaeological Survey of India has written in his report that the order to demolish the Atala Mata temple was given by Firoz Shah. But due to the struggle of Hindus the temple could not be demolished. Later Ibrahim Shah encroached upon it and started using the temple as a mosque.
He told that EB Havell, Principal of Calcutta School of Art, has described the nature and character of Atala Masjid as Hindu in his book. Pictures of Atala Mosque have been given in many reports of the Archaeological Survey of India. In which trident, flowers, hibiscus flowers, trident etc. have been found. In the General of the Asiatic Society of Bengal of the year 1865, the presence of Kalash figures on the building of Atala Masjid has been mentioned. The Atala Masjid itself is the original building of the Atala Mata Temple, which is a protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India and a monument of national importance. During this, advocates Ajay Pratap Singh, Upendra Vikram Singh, Himanshu Srivastava were present.
