Ranchi, 03 October (HS). A public interest litigation filed in the Jharkhand High Court to stop the increasing crimes against women and minor girls, including school children, in different districts of the state was heard on Thursday.
During the hearing today in the division bench of High Court Chief Justice and Justice Deepak Roshan, the court directed the state government to monitor key places with CCTV cameras. To help women in emergency, the helpline number should be publicized through advertisements in local TV channels and newspapers and street lights should be repaired at all places.
Regarding Durga Puja, the court has directed the government to appoint additional women security forces around the puja pandals and extend the operating hours of pink buses. Now the High Court will hear this PIL on November 18. High Court's female advocate Bharti Kaushal has filed a PIL in this regard. Advocate Gaurav Kumar presented the case on behalf of the state government.
