Hathras, 13 September (HS). District Magistrate Ashish Kumar inspected the temporary cowshed operated in Saadabad Gram Panchayat Kajrauthi and Tasingha of the district on Friday. The District Magistrate took stock of the arrangements of adequate fodder, water etc. for the cows protected there and gave necessary instructions to the responsible officers. He said that no cow should die due to lack of arrangements. If this happens, action will be taken against the concerned.
The District Magistrate today reached to inspect the Shri Radhe temporary cowshed operated in two acres in village panchayat Kajrauthi of development block Saadabad and the temporary cowshed operated in village panchayat Tasingha. Here he took stock of the condition of about 492 destitute cows. He gave necessary instructions to the concerned officials. He instructed to make separate arrangements for fodder and water for sick cows, small calves and weak animals in the cowshed. He instructed to plant Napier grass on vacant land for the availability of green fodder for the cows. He instructed the District Panchayat Raj Officer to make an island of soil in all the cowsheds operated in the village panchayats and to put bricks and rubble at those places in the cowshed where there may be a problem of waterlogging. He instructed the village heads to ensure the drainage system in the cowshed as well as to get it cleaned regularly and to get the protected animals regularly cleaned and to get the health checkup and vaccination done.
During the inspection, the District Magistrate inquired about the cattle kept in the temporary Gaushala, drinking water, tin shed, green fodder and hay for eating, care taker presence, stock, veterinary doctor visit and operation of CCTV. Assistant Development Officer Panchayat Ramkishan Singh informed about all the arrangements. He also informed about the installation of two solar panels by the NEDA department.
After this the District Magistrate reached to inspect the temporary cowshed located in Gram Panchayat Tasingha. He took information regarding the arrangements for the cows preserved in the cowshed. Where the present secretary Sant Kumar informed that the cowshed is built in about three bighas. There are about 191 destitute cows present in the cowshed. Out of which three are male and 188 are female cows. There are four caretakers for their care. Four tin sheds, five charhis, 10 water hoses, one submersible and two CCTV cameras are operational. A veterinary doctor is posted in the cowshed. Ear tagging of all the cows has been done.
During the inspection, Chief Development Officer, Project Director, District Panchayat Raj Officer, Block Development Officer, Assistant Development Officer and related employees etc. were present.
