Mirzapur, 30 September (HIST). District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan on Monday inspected the arrangements, barricading and bathing at the Ganga Ghat in the major roads and streets of Vindhyadham regarding the preparations for the Shardiya Navratri Fair starting from midnight of October 2 in Vindhyachal.

The District Magistrate expressed his displeasure over the shopkeepers who set up their shops on the road on the Kotwali road. Directed that strict action will be taken against shopkeepers who encroach on roads and do not keep dustbins in front of their shops. He asked the shopkeepers to maintain cleanliness by keeping dustbins in front of their shops and also to make the visiting customers aware of throwing any unused items in the dustbins. Said that only two and a half feet fiber or tin shed should be installed in front of the shops, action will also be taken against those who install foil.

The District Magistrate saw the steel railings and barricades being installed for the convenience of the visitors and the arrangements being made inside and in the temple premises. Also inspected the cleaning arrangements being made on the Ganga river ghats while removing encroachments on the pucca ghat road. He said that wherever necessary, bags should be filled with sand so that the visitors can get relief from mud etc. and have the convenience of taking bath. He directed the Executive Officer Municipality to ensure better cleanliness of the major roads and streets including the entire fair area.
