East Champaran, August 1 (HS). The mining department has taken major action against illegal mining being done with JCB in Sonbarsa Man of Harsiddhi block area of the district. The department and local police seized a JCB and a tractor on Thursday.
The mining department has issued a challan of 4 lakh 40,000 on JCB and 40,000 on tractor. Harsiddhi police station in-charge Nirbhay Kumar Rai said that illegal excavation of soil was going on in Machwa Man of Sonbarsa, for which instructions were being given for many days, but the JCB operators were not ready to obey, which was informed to the mining department by the local police, the mining department took major action and issued a challan of 4 lakh 80000. Due to which there is panic among the people involved in illegal mining.
