Kathua 15 February (HS). Apni Party's Kandi President (Bani-Basohli) and spokesperson Yasser Chaudhary has demanded medical equipment, paramedical staff and specialized doctors in the government hospital Bani.
According to a press release, Yasser Choudhary expressed concern over the deteriorating health situation at the government hospital, which has led to anger among the local people against the authorities for their failure to make the hospital fully functional. He said the hospital was functioning without adequate staff and doctors which are required to deal with day-to-day situations in any hospital in rural areas.
Therefore patients have to go to Kathua or GMC Jammu for treatment. He said that due to the absence of specialist doctors including gynecologists, ultrasound operators, these hospitals have become referral institutions. He also raised question marks on the shortage of paramedical staff and medical equipment. The government should seriously consider the issue of health sector so that the rural population can get proper medical care in their respective hospitals. He also demanded action against doctors who were negligent in treating patients and referring them to Kathua Hospital or GMC Jammu for minor surgeries.
