Strict action by the administration continues against Kannauj’s famous rape case accused and gangster Nawab Singh Yadav. The administration on Saturday started confiscating properties worth crores of Nawab Singh. As part of the action, Nawab Singh’s luxurious hotel worth Rs 12 crore was attached. Apart from this, his brother Neelu Yadav’s school worth Rs 5 crore has also been confiscated and BSA (Basic Shiksha Adhikari) has been appointed as its controller.
Accusations against Nawab Singh and action under Gangster Act
Nawab Singh Yadav, a Samajwadi Party leader and former block chief, has been accused of raping a minor girl in his college. Nawab’s brother Neelu Yadav and the victim’s aunt, who were involved in this conspiracy, are also co-accused and are currently in jail.
Police and administration believe that Nawab Singh and his family built these properties by amassing wealth illegally through crime. Taking action under the Gangster Act, the administration has now started confiscating their properties.
Hotel siege worth Rs 12 crore
At around 3 pm on Saturday evening, a team led by Tirwa SDM Ashok Kumar, Tehsildar Ambarish Kumar, CO City Dr. Kamlesh Kumar, and Gursahaiganj Kotwali in-charge Alok Dubey reached Nawab Singh’s hotel. The police started the process of confiscation by beating Dugdugi.
- After sealing all the rooms of the hotel, the main gate was locked.
- A notice of confiscation was also pasted outside the hotel.
- According to officials, the value of this property has been estimated at Rs 11 crore 63 lakh 22 thousand.
Action against brother Neelu Yadav’s school also
The childhood school owned by Nawab Singh’s brother Neelu Yadav has also been seized. The cost of the school is said to be around Rs 5 crore. The administration has handed over the control of the school to the Basic Education Officer (BSA).
Action will continue in future also
Officials said investigation into the properties of Nawab Singh Yadav and other members of his family is underway. SP Kannauj Amit Kumar Anand said:
“Under the Gangster Act, action is being taken against the properties of the accused made from illegal earnings. Other properties are also being investigated, and action will be taken soon.”
