News India Live, Digital Desk: Nowadays we often hear about small fights that happen in relationships. But sometimes these fights take such a terrible turn that it is difficult to even imagine. When one such case reached the Supreme Court, it is very important for all of us to know what the country’s biggest court said.

What was the matter after all?

It is about a man who threw acid on his live-in partner. He is in jail for this crime for the last 11 years. Now he had applied for bail in the Supreme Court.

He said in his argument that this was not a well thought out conspiracy. Suddenly there was a fight and he did this out of anger. He was trying to pass it off as a minor incident.

Supreme Court’s answer that wins hearts

When the bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Surya Kant heard this, their stance was very strict. He completely rejected that person’s argument.

Justice Surya Kant said something which forces one to think. He asked, “Why would someone carry a bottle of acid in his pocket in case of a sudden fight? Don’t explain these things to us.”

The whole truth was hidden in this one line of his. Anger has its place, but someone has acid only when his intentions are not good.

“The victim’s entire life was ruined.”

Chief Justice DY Chandrachud looked into the matter in more depth. He said that this crime is in no way less serious than dowry death, but in some cases it is even more painful.

He said, “You think about that woman. You have given her the pain of a lifetime. Her face, her identity, everything has been taken away. She is living with that pain every day. This is not a minor crime, it is a very heinous crime.”

The court clearly said that the question of showing leniency in such cases does not arise. After which, the bail application of the accused was immediately rejected.

This view of the Supreme Court is not just a decision, but a message to the society. This message is a ray of hope for all those victims who fight not only physical but also mental pain every day. This shows that the law understands their plight and the culprits will not be spared at any cost.
