Firozabad, 07 August (HS). The police team of Shikohabad police station arrested the accused who was absconding on the charge of rape after an encounter late on Tuesday night. He is injured after being shot in the leg. He was sent to the hospital for treatment.
Additional Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Kumar Mishra told on Wednesday that on August 6, a victim woman filed a case at Shikohabad police station that on August 4, her husband attacked her with the intention of killing her. Angered by this, she left her house. When she reached Subhash Tiraha in Shikohabad, she met an unknown person, who took her to the house of Seema, a resident of village Shahjalpur. On August 5, Seema called unknown persons to her house at different times and made her do bad things. On the basis of the woman's complaint, the police took the accused Seema into custody and interrogated her. On the basis of that, the names of some other accused came to light and their search was started.
Station Shikohabad in-charge Pradeep Kumar was patrolling the area with the police team late on Tuesday night. Then he received information that an accused of this incident was trying to escape on a motorcycle near police station Shikohabad on the dirt road towards Mainpuri Road village Kanthari. On receiving the information, the police team surrounded the area and signaled the motorcyclist to stop, but on seeing the police team, the young man riding the motorcycle tried to escape by turning the motorcycle. During this, the motorcycle slipped and fell. The accused stood up and fired at the police team. The accused got injured in the retaliatory action of the police team. The injured has been identified as Sameer son Shakeel resident of Bojhiya police station Shikohabad. The police team has arrested the accused and admitted him to the hospital for treatment. The police team has recovered a pistol, cartridges and a motorcycle from his possession.
