Accused of paper leak accused SOG of assault

Jaipur, 4 April (HS). Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mahanagar II has handed over 11 training SIs and one constable, arrested in the case related to SI Recruitment-2021 paper leak case, on four-day police remand. Along with this, the court has asked SOG to conduct medical examination of the accused every 24 hours during the period of police custody.

On behalf of SOG, the accused Surendra, Dinesh, Bhalaram, Rakesh, Subhash, Ajay, Jairaj, Manish, Manju, Chetan, Harkhu and Abhishek were presented in the court and it was said that the accused will be given 12 days police custody for questioning including money transactions. Should be sent on remand. Opposing this, the defense lawyers said that SOG should give the reason while demanding the demand of each accused. A 12-day remand of all the accused has been sought in automatic mode. Apart from this, he was not even given notice under Section 41A of CrPC before his arrest. When asked by the court, some other accused including the female candidate accused the SOG of harassment. On behalf of the accused, it was said that the officers beat them with batons before interrogating them.

Apart from this, they are neither being given food and water on time nor are they being allowed to sleep. They are also being mentally tortured. SOG has no evidence against us. On behalf of the accused, it was said that they were called on the pretext of questioning on April 2 and then kept in illegal custody and were presented in the court on April 4. On this, the court asked the investigating officer of SOG that when there is a provision to produce him in the court within 24 hours, then why was he not produced on time. Commenting, the court said that one can be interrogated even for a month while being kept in custody.
