Mumbai : Cricketer Virat Kohli has become India's most valuable celebrity in 2023 with a brand value of USD 227.9 million. Kohli has overtaken Ranveer Singh with a 29 per cent lead over the latter at USD 17.69 million in 2022, consulting firm Kroll said in a report.
Ranveer Singh ranked second with a brand value of $203.1 million. He was in first place last year. According to Kroll's Celebrity Bond Valuation Report 2023, Kohli's brand value has still not reached the 2020 level of $23.77 million. On the back of the success of films like 'Jawaan' and 'Pathan', 58-year-old actor Shah Rukh Khan ranked third in terms of brand value in 2023. Meanwhile, his brand value was $12.07 million. Khan's brand value in 2022 was $5.57 million and he was ranked tenth on the list. Aviral Jain, the firm's managing director for valuation advisory services, said, Khan has become India's top five brand celebrity for the first time since 2020. Due to Khan's strong lead, other celebrities have slipped back in the list. Among them, Akshay Kumar has moved from third place in 2022 to fourth place in 2023. His brand value is $11.17 million. Similarly, Alia Bhatt slipped from fourth place to fifth place with a brand value of $101.1 million. Deepika Padukone was in sixth place with $9.6 million in 2023. MS Dhoni, who recently announced his retirement from cricket, was seventh on the list with a brand value of $9.58 million. Sachin Tendulkar is in eighth place with $9.13 million. Salman Khan is in tenth place on this list.
