Absconding accused in woman's murder arrested in police encounter | News India

Jalaun, 07 September (HS). Four days ago, the body of a woman was found naked in a field in the district. She was strangulated to death. The police disclosed this murder case on Saturday. The police arrested the murderer in a half encounter and he was admitted to the hospital for treatment.

The naked body of an unknown married woman was found in the field of a person of Usargaon village of Kalpi Kotwali area four days ago. The postmortem report revealed that the woman was strangulated to death. After this, the police identified her and registered a case on the complaint of her father. To uncover this incident, six teams were formed under the leadership of Dr. Devendra Pachauri of Kalpi jurisdiction. On late Friday night, the police arrested the accused who committed this murder in a half encounter based on information.

The murder was committed by a youth Chandrapal alias Ran Vijendra Pal Ahirwar of the same village who was absconding since the incident. He used to be around the woman. At around 12 o'clock on Friday night, the police got the information that Chandrapal alias Ran Vijendra Pal Ahirwar was planning to run away and before that he was coming to the village to meet his family. A siege was started on him and when the police teams stopped him on Sarsela Road, he fired at the police with a pistol.

The police also fired in retaliation. A bullet hit Chandrapal's leg and he got injured. The police arrested him and recovered illegal arms, cartridges, shells and a bike from him. SP Dr. Durgesh Kumar said on Saturday that in the initial interrogation, Chandrapal has confessed that he has killed the woman. At present, he has been sent for treatment and further interrogation will be done only after treatment.
