Trinamool Congress General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee addressed a huge public meeting on Friday in support of actress Rachna Banerjee, Trinamool Congress candidate from Hooghly Lok Sabha seat. Abhishek attacked BJP in strong words in a meeting organized in Dhanekhali, Hooghly on Friday afternoon. He said that 80 percent women are present in the assembly and no one can defeat those who have women power. He further said, “I can say with responsibility that the farewell bell has rung for the government of the last 10 years at the Centre. Two more weeks are left in the tenure of the anti-people Bengal BJP government. A new government is going to be established in India – a democratic, progressive, secular, sensitive government. It has to be ensured that the people of Bengal can take the overall development of Bengal on the path of progress by sitting on the chair of decisive power and driving force in that government.
Abhishek also said that the truth of those who insulted Bengal in the name of Sandeshkhali has come to light today. BJP block president Gangadhar Kayal himself says that no rape took place in Sandeshkhali. A case of fake rape was registered in the police station by getting the signatures of the village women on white paper. In exchange of just two thousand rupees, he sacrificed the honor of the mothers and sisters of Bengal. Abhishek also said that if BJP wins in Bengal, it will get Lakshmi Bhandar closed in the next three months. Abhishek narrated an audio clip in this context to the people present.
MLA Asima Patra, Tapan Dasgupta, Asit Majumdar, Dr. Ratna D Nag, Arindam Guinn, Ranjan Dhara and others were present in the public meeting organized at Kangsharipur ground of Gurap under Dhanekhali Assembly constituency on Friday.
