Dehradun, 19 May (HS). In the 11th convocation of Graphic Era Deemed University, 5465 youth were awarded graduate, P.G. and doctoral degrees were awarded. In the convocation address, Professor Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Central Government, called upon the youth to continuously update their skills and give their best in their work.

Dr. VK Saraswat, member of NITI Aayog and Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University, known in the world as Missile Man, called upon the degree holders to maintain creativity, curiosity, enthusiasm and moral values ​​in life. Dr. Saraswat mentioned Swami Vivekananda. Saying that always believe that we are not weak. We have full potential.

Dr. Kamal Ghanshala, Chairman of Graphic Era Group of Institutions, called upon the youth to stay away from people with safe mindset. Dr. Shailesh Nayak, Director of National Institute of Advanced Studies, was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Science. Referring to the challenges arising from climate change, Dr. Nayak called for working together to save the earth from them.

At the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Dr. Narpinder Singh administered the oath to the degree holders. Pro. Chancellor Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma expressed his gratitude. Registrar Dr. DK Joshi led the academic procession and presented the details of those receiving degrees in the year 2022 and 2023.

Earlier this morning, the convocation ceremony was inaugurated with a magnificent and dignified academic procession at the Silver Jubilee Convention Center of Graphic Era. When the academic procession with the army band reached the Vishal Convention Centre, people stood up and welcomed it with thunderous sounds.

Scientist Dr Sudhir Kumar Mishra, Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University Dr Sanjay Jasola, Executive Council members, teachers and many parents also participated in the function.

Girls won 89.9 percent medals-

Girls are at the forefront of getting medals in the convocation ceremony of Graphic Era Deemed University. Girls have won 89.9 percent of the medals in the two years.

In the convocation ceremony, 39 gold, 40 silver and 37 bronze medals were given to the students passing out in the year 2022. The students who passed in the year 2023 have received a total of 44 gold, 44 silver and 44 bronze medals. Of these, 89.9 percent medals were won by girls. At the ceremony, 66 researchers were awarded PhD degrees for their research work in 14 subjects including Engineering, Management, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Chemistry.

Degrees were given in the convocation ceremony to 2569 students who completed the course in the year 2022 and to 2896 students of the year 2023. Apart from these, scholars doing PhD in the year 2024 were also given degrees in the ceremony.
