Union Health Minister JP Nadda, on behalf of the Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (PHANA) in Punjab, has criticised the closure of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya (AB-PMJA) scheme. Cashless treatment under PHANA has also been stopped – Rs 600 crore pending payment by the state government.
PHANA had said two days ago that private healthcare facilities across Punjab will participate in these schemes only if the dues are paid by the state government. Reacting to these developments in Punjab, Union Health Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party president JP Nadda said Ayushman Bharat was conceived to help economically deprived families with assured medical cover. In Punjab today Aam Aadmi Party People are deprived of free health services due to poor management of the (AAP) state government.
Chief Minister From Bhagwant Mann Nadda questioned why Chief Minister Mann's government did not pay the dues of private hospitals before the elections. He had said that better clinics and health centres would be provided. But today his government cannot work for the welfare of the poor.
Targeting CM Mann, JP Nadda said that he requests CM Mann to pay the dues of the hospitals as soon as possible. Because, many families, especially our hardworking farmers, are getting benefits under the Ayushman Bharat program. It would be better if Chief Minister Mann focuses on the deteriorating situation in Punjab instead of pleasing the party unit in Delhi.
