AAP-Congress alliance in Delhi: Notification for Lok Sabha elections may be issued in the end of February or the first week of March. Keeping this possibility in mind, all political parties are preparing in full swing. Meanwhile, big news is coming out from Delhi in which an agreement has been reached between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress regarding elections.
Earlier Kejriwal had expressed his displeasure
According to sources, talks on alliance between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi are in the final stages. Today, an agreement has been reached between the two parties on seat sharing, in which AAP will contest on 4 out of seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, while Congress can contest on 3 Lok Sabha seats. It is noteworthy that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has many times expressed his displeasure over the delay in seat sharing with Congress. He said, “This work should have been done long ago.”
At present all the MPs in Delhi are from BJP
It seems that both the parties have agreed to contest the elections in Delhi in alliance. However, Congress is currently refraining from saying anything on this offer. According to sources, Aam Aadmi Party can contest elections on South Delhi, North-West Delhi, New Delhi and West Delhi seats. The remaining three seats North East, Chandni Chowk and East Delhi can go to Congress. At present there are BJP MPs on all the seven seats of Delhi.
Deal final for 3 states
Apart from this, seat distribution has been decided between AAP and Congress in two other states also. According to the distribution formula that has been prepared, AAP will contest on 4 seats in Delhi, while Congress will be given three seats. Whereas in Haryana, Congress will give one seat to Aam Aadmi Party and 2 seats in Gujarat. An official announcement will be made soon in this regard.
