AAP and BJP have declared the same person as their candidates, which also includes the name of Bibi who wants to contest the elections.

Shahkot: People are making fun of the name of Bibi Chandravati, who wants to contest from Ward No. 3 of Shahkot for the Nagar Panchayat elections, in the list released by both BJP and Aam Aadmi Party. The leaders of both the parties are upset with the declaration of the same person as the candidate. Question marks have also been raised on the selection of candidates by the Election Commission. The screening committee formed by AAP also included constituency in-charge Parminder Singh Pandori and two senior leaders of the constituency.

After the meeting of the screening committee at the district level, the final list of candidates from Chandigarh was released and AAP also included the BJP candidate in this list. In this regard, Chandravati’s son Rahul Pandit said that he had applied for ticket from Bharatiya Janata Party and was also made a candidate by BJP, whereas Aam Aadmi Party had not expressed any desire to contest the elections, hence his name came Aam.
