He gave a verdict condemning Hinduism

The petitioner told the High Court that the film was made on the basis of the judgment given by the British judges of the Bombay Supreme Court in the case of Maharaj Badanshi in 1862, which condemned Hinduism and made derogatory comments against devotional songs. If the bhajans and film of Lord Shri Krishna are released, it will be a big blow to Hindu sentiments.

The High Court accepted these arguments and banned the release of the film Maharaj, which was to be released today.
