Shimla, September 14 (HS). A case of raping a girl on the pretext of marriage has come to light in the capital Shimla. The accused youth was sexually exploiting the victim on the pretext of marriage for a long time. But when he refused to marry her, the victim complained against him to the police. The accused has also been accused of threatening the victim. A case has been registered against the accused youth in the women police station of Shimla under the sections of rape and threatening.
The victim is a native of Mandi district. The accused is also from the same district and works in Shimla. He is living in a rented room in Shimla city. It is alleged that the youth called the victim from Mandi to Shimla on the pretext of marriage and took her to his room and raped her.
According to the complaint filed by the victim, after this the accused's behaviour towards her started changing and he refused to marry her. The accused also threatened to kill the victim.
However, the women police have registered an FIR against the accused Shashikant under sections 376 (2), 417 and 506 of the IPC and action is being taken.
