A woman was duped of Rs 5 lakh on the pretext of giving her money, case registered

Palwal, July 3 (HS). A young woman was lured by sending some money to her account by promising to earn money by reviewing restaurants, YouTube channels and hotels etc. while sitting at home. After that, she was duped of Rs 5 lakh. On the complaint of the young woman, the Cyber ​​Crime Police Station has registered a case against unknown cyber fraudsters and started investigation.

According to the information received, Preeti, a resident of HUDA Sector-2, has said in her complaint to the police that she received a WhatsApp call from an unknown number. The person told her name as Suhana Sharma and said that we have a part time job. In which Suhana Sharma has asked her (Preeti) to review different products like restaurants, YouTube channels, hotels etc. Suhana Sharma told her that they will pay her Rs 150 for reviewing these products. To which she said yes.

They asked him to download a telegram and shared a link to join the telegram id. After that Suhana Sharma assigned him the task of subscribing to some YouTube channels. After which Suhana asked him to share the account details and transferred Rs 150 for the first time, Rs 150 for the second time and Rs 1000 for the third time to his account and the next day they asked him to join a telegram group to complete a task. In the said task, they asked him to send Rs 1000, when he sent Rs 1000, after that they asked him to send Rs 3000, then Rs 20000, then Rs 70000, then Rs 80000 and then Rs 3 lakh so that finally the task could be completed.

3 lakhs deposited by deceiving

The fraudsters said that after the completion of the work, you will get 6 lakh 62 thousand 230 rupees in the end. When she (Preeti) transferred the final amount of 3 lakh rupees, they told her that you have done something wrong and now they are not returning your money, and now you have to pay 5.5 lakh rupees to complete the work, otherwise you will not get your money back. She realized that she has been cheated. So she asked for her money back, but they did not return the money.

Cybercrime police station chief Naveen Kumar said on Wednesday that based on Preeti's complaint, a case of fraud has been registered against unknown fraudsters and investigation has been started.
