A woman was duped of lakhs of rupees by luring her with the promise of getting cashback on her credit card

Fatehabad, June 9 (HS). Cyber ​​​​thugs swindled lakhs of rupees from a woman of village Dariyapur by luring her with cashback on credit card. The victim woman informed the police about this on Sunday. Cyber ​​​​police station Fatehabad has registered a case of fraud and started investigation.

In a complaint to the police, Rajni Rani, a resident of Dariyapur village, said that she has three credit cards. On April 24, she received a WhatsApp call on her mobile. The caller said that there is a full cashback offer on her Axis Bank and HDFC Bank credit cards. Whatever she spends from her credit card, she will get the entire amount back in the form of cashback. After this, they sent an OTP for Rs 48,000 on her mobile number, which was for Axis Bank credit card. She told them this OTP. After which Rs 48,000 was deducted from her credit card.

On this, he sent a WhatsApp message on the said number and told about not getting cashback, then he was told that this offer is there on both his cards. He will get cashback only if he makes payment from the other card also and this cashback will be transferred to him within 24 hours. After this, on April 25, OTPs of Rs 48 thousand, 23 thousand and 2 thousand were sent to him which were for HDFC Bank debit card. On giving the OTP, Rs 73 thousand were deducted from his account. After this, another OTP was sent to him. On giving the OTP, Rs 73 thousand were deducted from his HDFC Bank credit card.

After this, the said person told her that she will get all her cashback at once. The next day on 26th April, he again sent her an OTP. As soon as she told the OTP, Rs. 68 thousand were deducted from her account again. After this, when she did not get the cashback, she talked to him and the said fraudster told her that she will have to do another transaction of Rs. 76 thousand, only then she will get the cashback. On this, she came to know about the fraud committed against her. The woman alleged that the unknown fraudster has cheated her and grabbed Rs. 2 lakh 62 thousand from her. On this, the woman lodged a complaint on helpline number 1930. In this case, Cyber ​​Police Station Fatehabad has registered a case on the charge of fraud and started investigation.
