Kanpur, 04 August (HS). The police team of Panki police station arrested a notorious criminal with a reward of twenty-five thousand rupees from near Panki Power House on Sunday. Legal action was taken against him and he was sent to jail.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone, Rajesh Kumar Singh said that the arrested accused is Ankit Singh Chauhan alias Puttal, son of late Ram Singh, resident of Harjinder Nagar Sehgal Market, Lal Bangla Kalibari, located in Chakeri police station area of Kanpur city. The police team recovered a pistol, cartridges and Rs 1300 cash from his possession. Cases have been registered against him under POCSO Act, illegal sale of narcotics, assault, threat to kill, and other offences in Chakeri and Panki areas of Kanpur city.
A total of 13 criminal cases are registered against him. A reward of twenty-five thousand rupees has also been announced for his arrest.
As part of the campaign being run against criminals, a joint police team of Panki police station in-charge inspector Manvendra Singh and SWAT team crime branch in-charge Manish Kumar arrested Ankit Singh Chauhan from near Panki Power House on Sunday on the information of an informer. Legal action was taken against him and he was sent to jail.
